The cases of Candida auris, caused by a drug-resistant fungus, are spreading rapidly through European hospitals and are particularly worrying in Spain, where 45% of the cases recorded in Europe between 2013 and 2023 occurred, according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
