Shooting in the upper part of Barcelona: the victim has emerged unharmed from the shots
The warning was given at six in the morning by several neighbors and the man has not filed a complaint
BarcelonaIt was a few minutes before six in the morning when some residents of Ferran Puig street, in the Putxet neighborhood of Barcelona, heard at least three detonations. At 5:52 a.m., the first call came into the 112 emergency number reporting a possible shooting at this point in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district, next to Parc del Turó del Putxet.
Several units of the Mossos d'Esquadra were activated by this alert. When they arrived at the scene, they did not find the gunman, but they did find a man who was supposedly the target of the bullets. However, this man was not injured and had come out completely unharmed. According to sources consulted by ARA, this man has not filed a complaint and is not cooperating with the police investigation by explaining exactly what had happened. The Mossos are waiting for him to file a complaint and, for now, the Sarrià police station is handling it, not the criminal investigation specialists.
The Catalan police do speak of a firearm incident; that is, they are giving credence to the information that detonations occurred. The investigation, however, is in its initial stages, and it is not known for certain whether they were warning shots fired into the air – as in most shootings – or if they were aimed at the man. They are also checking if there are any other victims of firearms in the city's hospitals.
Last shooting
On Monday afternoon, another shooting was registered in the metropolitan area, in this case in the La Mina neighborhood, in Sant Adrià de Besòs. The alert was also given by witnesses who had heard detonations, but the Mossos did become aware of a person who had gone to a health center with gunshot wounds. The police continue to investigate the facts and there are no detainees.
