Remove the teacher recognized for doing conversion therapies due to the pressure of the families
The Lambda organization considers it "inadmissible" that it was proposed to incorporate this man into the staff
ValenciaAfter Eldiario.es revealed that Federico M.V. had been hired at the Mantellate school in Valencia—a teacher removed from the profession two years ago for practicing sexual conversion therapies on LGBTI people at an educational center in the Valencian town of Alaquàs—pressure from the school's Association of Families has caused this hiring to be cancelled.
From Lambda, an LGBTI collective in the Valencian Country, and FELGTBI+, the Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Trans, Bisexuals, Intersex people and more, they have thanked the families for this action and highlighted that it is inadmissible that "the company Gestión de Centros Católicos de Enseñanza SL considered incorporating into the staff of an educational center, in charge of the education and care of adolescents and minors, a person who has openly acknowledged their participation in these execrable practices".
They also wanted to emphasize that these types of practices are "considered by the UN as psychological torture, in addition to being child abuse and LGBTI-phobic violence" and they demand that the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education "apply with force both the state and regional LGBTI laws".
