BarcelonaThe first phase of the Easter getaway operation is experiencing the first traffic jams this Friday afternoon on the outskirts of Barcelona and on the country's main arteries. The most affected routes at the moment are the Ronda de Dalt and the AP-7 highway in the Penedès. In both cases, an accident has forced part of the road to be closed, causing vehicles to accumulate on the same day that the Easter school holidays begin.

From midday until five in the afternoon, 162,000 vehicles have left the metropolitan area. According to the forecasts of the Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT), this represents 28% of the 580,000 vehicles that will leave the city by tomorrow, Saturday, at 3 p.m.
