Primary school teacher arrested in Granollers for child pornography distribution
During the search of his apartment, more than 100,000 child abuse files were seized
BarcelonaThe National Police have arrested a primary school teacher for possession and distribution of child pornography. As ARA has learned, the teacher worked at a school in Granollers although he lived in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, where he was arrested. During the search of his apartment, officers seized over 100,000 files containing child sexual abuse material, according to a police statement released on Monday.
The investigation began when police discovered during a network scan a person who was sharing and distributing pornographic material involving minors through eDonkey (P2P) networks. The detainee used one of the most common online networks in Spain, where users from anywhere in the world can connect and thus download, as well as share files of any type, such as images and videos of a pedophilic nature.
Over 100,000 files with pedophilic content
As a result of police investigations, investigators managed to identify and locate the suspect, a teacher who worked at a primary education center. At the time of his arrest, however, he was on medical leave. During the entry and search of the teacher's home, by court order, the police seized the computer hardware and mass storage devices, where he kept the illegal files, in which more than three terabytes of data and more than 100,000 files were found.
In the exploitation phase of this police operation, the UCC –Central Unit for Cybercrime of the General Commissariat of Judicial Police–, group 22 of the BPPJ –Provincial Brigade of Judicial Police of Barcelona–, and the Local Brigade of Judicial Police of Sant Adrià participated jointly.
