BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested two young men, aged 25 and 26, as the alleged perpetrators of the rape of a homeless woman in the Sant Martí district of Barcelona. According to sources consulted by ARA, they were arrested for entering the tent where the victim was sleeping and forcing her between the two of them. The men were remanded in custody this Monday, accused of sexual assault and robbery in an inhabited house.

The arrests took place this Sunday at 1:15 p.m. on Salvador Espriu street, near the Ronda Litoral, and the sexual assault had occurred a few hours earlier. The two young men are known to the police, as they each have six prior records for crimes not linked to sexual violence, but rather to robberies and crimes against property, according to sources consulted by ARA.

The Investigation Unit of the Sant Martí police station has taken charge of the case to clarify the circumstances of the events. The 45-year-old victim filed a complaint after being accompanied by the officers.
