ValenciaOne victim and historic accumulations. This is the provisional balance of the Adam DANA in the Valencian Community, given that heavy downpours are still being recorded, and which already leaves figures of more than 600 l/m² in the regions of La Safor and La Marina Alta. Specifically, in municipalities such as Pego, 638.5 l/m² are exceeded in 24 hours and in the village of Forna, belonging to the town of L'Atzúbia, 635.2 l/m², according to data from the Valencian Association of Meteorology (Avamet). Aemet asserts that it could be the most significant rain episode in the area since November 1987.

Despite the torrential rainfall recorded on the border of the provinces of Valencia and Alicante, the only fatality has occurred in Sagunto. It is a woman who had disappeared yesterday afternoon at the beach of this town where she had gone swimming despite the fact that an orange alert for rain and coastal phenomena was activated throughout the day.

The situation does not stop worsening and the overflow of the Girona river in the town of Beniarbeig has already been announced, a circumstance that could be repeated with the Beniopa ravine in Gandia. In addition, the UME (Military Emergencies Unit) has been deployed to the town of Oliva.

As a result of this situation, the Generalitat has sent a new Es-Alert message to the inhabitants of the regions of La Marina Alta and La Safor, where it asks the population of the affected areas to avoid travel and remain in their homes. The message urges citizens to stay away from rivers, ravines, and riverbeds, to go up to higher floors if water enters their home, and not to go down to basements or garages, or use elevators. Emergencies also asks that special attention be paid to vulnerable people and, in case of emergency, to call 112.
