A multiple vehicle accident with eight people injured in Granollers is being investigated.

BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) are investigating a multiple hit-and-run incident this Saturday night in Granollers that left eight people injured. For now, it is unknown whether the incident was intentional or an accident, according to sources within the force consulted by ARA. The relationship between the victims and the suspect, whom the police have not yet located, has not been clarified. However, witnesses to the incident provided the name of the driver because they knew him. After the hit-and-run, the man reportedly crashed into a street lamp while fleeing in the direction of Canovelles. About three hours later, a car caught fire in that municipality, and police believe it could be the vehicle involved in the Granollers hit-and-run.
The incident occurred at around 11:45 p.m. on Maria Palau Street in Granollers, in the Congost neighborhood. Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) sources confirm that the accident left eight people seriously injured, and that all were taken to medical centers. The Emergency Medical System (SEM) confirmed that of the eight injured, four were in less serious condition and another four suffered minor injuries.
Following the accident, dozens of people gathered in the area, and Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) ARRO patrols were activated, but no disturbances occurred. A Mossos d'Esquadra investigation unit, two units from the Generalitat Fire Department, ambulances from the Emergency Medical System (SEM), and officers from the Local Police of Granollers and neighboring municipalities were also activated.
