More commuter train cuts: work on the R4 line leaves only one train per hour in each direction.
At the moment the service is operating without incident, according to the alternative plan provided for the works.

BarcelonaMore changes to the commuter rail network. This Monday, a closure begins on the R4 line between Vilafranca and Martorell, which will last until September and will leave only one train per hour in each direction. According to Renfe's early morning report, the service began without incident, in accordance with the alternative road plan already planned for this situation.
Thus, starting this Monday, June 30, trains to and from Vilafranca will start/end in Martorell. Those to and from San Vicente, on the other hand, will maintain their schedule. On the unserved section, the Spanish operator has organized a bus service that will operate throughout the entire construction period.
These are shuttle buses, meaning they run without stops, between Vilafranca del Penedès and Martorell Central. Each journey is estimated to take between 30 and 45 minutes. During peak hours, there will also be additional buses with stops in Gelida, Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Lavern-Subirats, and Granada. Bus frequency will be increased in September to adapt to the start of the school year (and the resulting increased demand).
Once this phase of the works is completed, they will continue until January 2026. A complete shutdown of the service is not expected, but there will be further frequency adjustments to certain time slots and on weekends, as has occurred in previous phases.
