Minor arrested for fatally stabbing a man in the center of Barcelona

BarcelonaA minor has killed another man in the center of Barcelona early this morning. The events occurred at midnight, and later the perpetrator of the stabbing was arrested. Currently, according to police sources, everything indicates that the alleged perpetrator of the crime had suffered a robbery by a group that included the victim. After the robbery, a few meters away, on Carrer de la Cera, in the Raval, it escalated into a stabbing.

A few minutes before midnight, the Mossos d'Esquadra received the alert of the incident. The Medical Emergency Services (SEM) attended to the assaulted person, but they were in critical condition. They transferred him to a hospital, where he ended up dying. A few minutes later, the Barcelona City Police located the alleged perpetrator of the murder, who was a minor, and arrested him. The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos d'Esquadra has taken charge of the case, which is under judicial secrecy.

This is the second violent death by stabbing in a few hours in the metropolitan area of Barcelona. On Saturday morning, a man killed a young woman with whom he had no prior relationship near the Sant Joan de Déu hospital in Esplugues de Llobregat. He stabbed her several times and, after a pursuit by the Mossos d'Esquadra along Barcelona's Diagonal, he was arrested in the Les Corts neighborhood.
