A man who escaped from a Catalan prison where he was serving a sentence for rape and attempted murder has been arrested in Germany.

German authorities, in coordination with the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police), have arrested a 27-year-old man in Frankfurt who escaped two years ago from a Catalan prison where he was serving a sentence for rape and attempted murder. Police initially arrested him in March 2018, and he was serving a 13-year sentence.
