BarcelonaA man killed a ten-year-old boy early this morning in the municipality of Arona, in southern Tenerife, and critically injured his partner and the boy's mother. According to the EFE news agency, the Civil Guard shot and killed the man after he threatened officers with a machete. Sources from the Civil Guard, cited by the same agency, explained that the incident, in which an officer was also injured, occurred around 1:00 a.m. at a home in the town of Cabo Blanco. Neighbors alerted the Civil Guard to a disturbance at the residence. When officers arrived, they found the boy's body and the woman seriously injured. The attacker, the boy's father and the woman's partner, was carrying a machete, which he allegedly used to carry out the attacks. According to the police report, the man resisted arrest, injuring one officer, and was subsequently shot dead. The woman was taken to a hospital.
