Jonathan Andic's defense wants Miquel Roca to testify as a witness

BarcelonaJonathan Andic's defense has sent a list of names they want to testify in the judicial case to the Martorell courts, which are investigating him as the alleged perpetrator of his father's death. Among them, the name of the lawyer and former politician Miquel Roca Junyent stands out, as reported by El Periódico and confirmed by ARA.

The main objective of his testimony is, according to the defense, to attack the economic motive that the Mossos see behind the events, especially regarding a foundation that the father wanted to create and which the investigation considers could have affected the son's inheritance. Specifically, the defense for the firstborn of the Mango founder wants Roca to explain how Isak Andic commissioned him with various tasks for this foundation. The defense believes that Roca will be able to explain the role the children had in this entity, whether they were in agreement, and if it altered their inheritance.

The defense believes that the police report has contributed to creating and spreading a narrative with a high "imaginative" content, "focused on interpreting and with little grounding in reality." In fact, they also request that Miquel Roca's son, Joan Roca, a lawyer who was also linked to the creation of the foundation, with philanthropic purposes, testify.

Before the summer, Jonathan's sisters already testified and explained that they knew about their father's plans to create a foundation and that the children were actively participating in it. That is to say, they described that there was communication between father and children regarding financial matters and that there was transparency. In fact, they specified that they met once a year to update the inheritance, to the point that the donations the father had made to the children were deducted from it. In this sense, they pointed out that financial compensations were made so that the three children would be balanced.

More testimonies

Jonathan Andic's lawyers have also requested that notary Ariel Sultán testify, in order to give an account of the succession of wills that Isak Andic granted annually and their modifications; the financial and administration director of Punto Na (the Andic family's patrimonial company), designated to prepare and finalize the annual wills and their modifications; and the professional Germán Castejón, who helped Isak Andic with the planning of the future management of the assets and family businesses and the role that the children were to have. Furthermore, it is requested that the CEO of Mango, Toni Ruiz, testify.
