BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) have arrested four men for their alleged involvement in the death of a young man who was stabbed to death on September 30th in Barcelona. The 25-year-old was fatally stabbed on the landing of the third floor of a building in the Bon Pastor neighborhood, in BarcelonaAccording to information obtained by ARA, the Catalan police are investigating whether the murder is linked to a jewelry sale. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) have reported that the four detainees are between 19 and 30 years old and were arrested in two phases as the investigation progressed. Two of the men were arrested in October, and the other two were arrested this week, on Wednesday, November 12th, and Thursday, November 13th. Two of those arrested have been remanded in custody without bail, while the other two have been released with precautionary measures. The victim was found on the building's landing after suffering multiple stab wounds and blows. As ARA has learned, the victim was not a resident of the building and arrived on a motorcycle just minutes before the fatal attack. It appears he was accompanied. The police investigation also suggests that the young man had gone to the blog to purchase jewelry. He was carrying a significant amount of cash, and the transaction ended in the worst possible way: the sellers kept his money and are also being investigated as the suspected perpetrators of his death.

It all happened at the door of an apartment that neighbors had long warned was problematic, and where drugs were also being dealt. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) are checking if the jewelry was stolen before being sold.

Hideout

The suspect in the crime was arrested on Caracas Street in Barcelona, where he had hidden after the incident. The other arrests were made in various locations throughout the metropolitan area, and all of those detained are implicated, to varying degrees, in the drug deal that ended in murder. The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Barcelona Metropolitan Police Region has taken charge of the investigation to determine the cause of death and identify the perpetrator. The case is currently under seal.
