BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating an apparent accident during the passage of the Correllengua Agermanat –the race that runs through Catalan-speaking territories to advocate for the unity and promotion of the language– through the town of Cardedeu, in Vallès Oriental. According to sources consulted by ARA, around eight in the evening, a cyclist participating in the race suffered a neck injury that could have been caused by a pellet.

The investigation is open to clarify if it was indeed this type of projectile, although everything points in that direction. Investigators have also determined that there were trabucaires (firearms enthusiasts) in the area, and therefore, it could be an accident. However, it is still not clear whether they or another person caused the injury. The investigations are being carried out by the Investigation Unit of the Mossos d'Esquadra station in Granollers.

In a social media post, the Correllengua organization explains that "a person had to be assisted by medical services and hospitalized." They clarify that "they are well and stable" and state that the incident was caused "by a person external to the organization." "Until the Mossos clarify what happened, we call for collective responsibility to facilitate the process of ascertaining the facts and to protect the privacy and comfort of the participant," the organizers conclude.
