Barcelona"A website from the jihadist environment affiliated with Daesh has been detected where a call is made to attack both the police and protesters in the protests taking place in various European countries. The publication specifically mentions Spain". This is one of the most prominent points of an internal alert, to which ARA has had access, which has been issued by the Ministry of the Interior and which the main State security forces have received.

Although police sources reflect that it is not extraordinary to find content of this typology on websites affiliated with Daesh, the Mossos d'Esquadra have requested in an internal message to which ARA has had access to remind [officers] of self-protection measures. The alert from the Ministry of the Interior, issued by the Cybersecurity Coordination Office, warns that this website says that the number of protesters on the streets of France represents a "valuable opportunity to attack them". In fact, they also point out that the police are an "easy target" during clashes with protesters.

The jihadist content that has been detected speaks of using explosives and knives. In these websites, it is recalled that in attacks with explosives, martyrdom is recommended, that is, the immolation of the terrorist. In the case of knife attacks, the lengths the weapon must have to inflict the maximum possible damage are explained, as well as the areas of the body where the attack "guarantees success".

Security reinforcement

For its part, the internal directive sent by the Mossos requests that the security measures for the agents be recalled during the services scheduled for this weekend and stresses that the anti-terrorist alert level remains at level 4 out of 5. Above all, it insists on reviewing operational instructions, checking the corps' protection and communication means, maintaining attention to the environment, and reporting any incidents through the usual channels.

"It is simply a matter of reinforcing good professional practices and compliance with current security protocols, with normality, responsibility, and without generating any unnecessary alarm," concludes the internal note sent by the Mossos headquarters.
