Immigrants from the sea of plastic

This week, the Spanish government of Pedro Sánchez announced an extraordinary regularization program for undocumented immigrants. At ARA, we analyze this from several angles, one of which is the impact on the most vulnerable workers. In this Sunday's report, in addition to analyzing its effects on the Catalan political and economic context, we focus on the agricultural region of Almería, an area where nearly 100,000 immigrant workers live and work, almost 30% of whom are undocumented and under very precarious conditions. This is the so-called "Sea of Plastic," kilometers upon kilometers of greenhouses that produce vegetables and fruit for all of Europe, and which an ARA team has visited.
