According to police sources, the incident took place shortly after 10:00 AM on a rural road in the municipality of Cervera, in the Segarra region. The victim and the arrested man were not alone, but rather part of a group of four people conducting a big-game hunt. It was in this context that an apparently accidental shooting occurred. The victim, 64 years old, was reportedly struck by a bullet fired by a companion who was putting his weapon back in its case. The detainee, a 30-year-old man, was taken to the Cervera police station for questioning. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) have taken charge of the investigation.
