A forest fire is burning in Collserola
A score of Firefighter units have been deployed to try to extinguish the fire, which started in the part of the mountain that borders Barcelona
BarcelonaAbout twenty units from the Barcelona and Generalitat Firefighters are working to extinguish a fire in Collserola. The fire alert was received at 3:25 PM and started in the area of the Carretera de les Aigües, near Sant Pere Màrtir. This is the part of Collserola closest to Barcelona.
Right now, at least three helicopters, in addition to the ground units, are working on this fire. The fire has created a smoke column visible from various points in the city, as shared by several users on social media. The 112 emergency number has received a thousand calls about this fire.
The Consorci del Parc de Collserola informs that they are monitoring the situation from the park's fire prevention center. At the moment the fire was detected, the guard of the Sant Pere Màrtir tower was evacuated, and she is already out of the risk zone.
Precisely this Friday, the Barcelona City Council has activated the Municipal Action Plan for Forest Fire Risk in alert phase, given that the Generalitat has placed Barcelonès at level 3 of the Alfa Plan and at a very high risk of fire.
