BarcelonaJust like in American movies, three men with their faces covered and armed with fake firearms broke into a bank branch in downtown Girona at noon on Wednesday and arrested seven people, including employees and customers. The attempted robbery in broad daylight was foiled by the police, resulting in no injuries.

The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) and the Girona Municipal Police arrested the three robbers, who are between 48 and 53 years old, at five minutes to 2:30 p.m. at a Santander bank branch located on Carrer Emili Grahit, on the corner of Carrer de la Rutlla. The men entered the branch with their faces covered and armed with fake firearms, intending to steal the cash from the till, but an employee managed to call 112. According to police sources, the officers' swift intervention prevented the robbers from successfully stealing the cash.
