The Mossos d'Esquadra have located the man in Barcelona
BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a man this Saturday as the alleged perpetrator of the violent death of a woman in the town of Esplugues de Llobregat, in Baix Llobregat. The Catalan police force received the alert around 11 in the morning, through a call to 112 informing that a man had injured a woman and fled the scene. According to what ARA has learned, the murder would have been committed in the middle of Joan Miró street with a bladed weapon. When the Mossos d'Esquadra units and the medical emergency system (SEM) personnel arrived, they could do nothing to save the woman's life, who had received several stab wounds.
A short while after the homicide, the Catalan police located and arrested the alleged perpetrator of the murder in Barcelona. The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos d'Esquadra has taken charge of the investigation, which is under secrecy of proceedings. Police sources indicate that there was no type of romantic relationship between the man and the stabbed woman, although it is being investigated whether they knew each other, at least.
The Esplugues de Llobregat City Council has condemned the murder and expressed its "concern", as situations like this affect "coexistence and public safety". The council deeply regretted "the violent death of a person in the city" while extending its condolences to her family and loved ones.
