Catalonia expands free legal aid in response to the requirement to mediate before initiating proceedings.

An agreement between the Government and the Catalan Bar Council (Cicac) has expanded the services covered by free legal aid to include mediation, which, with the entry into force of the Judicial Efficiency Act, will be mandatory for initiating civil or commercial proceedings starting tomorrow.
