A car fleeing the Mossos in the opposite direction leaves nine injured on the AP-7
The accident has forced the closure of the highway at the height of Papiol for three hours
A car fleeing from the Mossos d'Esquadra driving against traffic on the AP-7 caused an accident with nine injured – one of them in critical condition – which forced the highway to be closed for three hours. The police have arrested the driver, who was initially trapped inside the vehicle, for vehicular homicide. Another occupant of the car has also been arrested for disobedience and robbery. However, a third person managed to escape and is currently wanted.
The incident occurred around 4 PM and forced the closure of the AP-7 at El Papiol in the direction of Barcelona until around 7:00 PM. Regarding the victims, there are nine injured, one of them in critical condition and has been transferred to Hospital Parc Taulí de Sabadell. There are also four people in less serious condition who had to be transferred to Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa and four minor injuries who were taken to Hospital Mútua de Terrassa. Three hours after the accident, the road still had kilometers of traffic jams and occasional traffic stops.
To attend to the accident, the Firefighters sent seven units and were able to rescue two people who were trapped inside the vehicles. In total, ten units from the Emergency Medical Services (SEM) and one joint SEM-Firefighters unit were activated.
