Call to identify a woman found dead in the Segre: they are investigating it as a crime
The victim was not carrying identification documents and appeared dressed
BarcelonaA month ago, on June 3rd, the body of a woman was found floating in the Segre River near Lleida. The Mossos d'Esquadra opened an investigation and have not yet managed to identify the victim. However, according to sources consulted by this newspaper, her death is being investigated as a criminal death. That is, as a homicide.
The woman was wearing a pink shirt, blue tights, and black sports shoes. She was also not carrying any identification or phone. So far, no one has reported her missing, and the case is being handled by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Mossos. Now, in order to identify her, the police have created an image of the woman using artificial intelligence and have requested public collaboration. Specifically, the Mossos have provided a phone number (973 700 050, ext 65106) and an email address (itpg7979@mossos.cat) so that those who know her can contact them.
Right now, there is no one arrested for these events and the identification of the victim could be a key step in reaching the presumed killer. That same day, a body appeared in the Utxesa reservoir, not far from where the woman was located. However, this second body had been in the water for many more days and does not point to a criminal death, according to sources consulted by ARA. For this reason, the Mossos do not link these two cases.
