Blanes rescues a French woman kidnapped and assaulted by her ex

BarcelonaOn Sunday night someone alerted the police because they had seen at a gas station in the center of Blanes a man hitting a car where a girl was locked inside. A few hours later, the local police of the municipality arrested this same man, of French nationality, for allegedly having kidnapped and assaulted the woman who was in the car. It is his ex-partner, also French, who was reported missing in her country.

When they received the alert about the scene at the gas station, several patrols of the local police approached. At that moment the man fled running, but the agents caught him shortly after. The police identified them, both him and the victim, and confirmed that the girl was reported missing in France and had generated an alert in the Schengen system.

Incommunicado

According to the local police in a statement this Monday, the man declared before the agents that they were spending a few days on vacation, that they were staying in a hotel in Lloret and that the girl was his partner. On the other hand, the girl denied it and explained that the man was her ex-partner and that he had kidnapped her, and expressed her wish to return to France with her family. The woman also reported that the man had assaulted her and had threatened to kill her, and that she was very scared. She also explained that he had taken her mobile phone and did not allow her to communicate with anyone.

For all these reasons, the Local Police arrested the man and accompanied the girl to the regional hospital for treatment. The man is accused of the alleged crimes of assault, domestic abuse, illegal detention, serious threats, coercion, and damage.
