Barcelona Marathon: This is how it will affect traffic and public transport
This Sunday's race, March 16, will involve road closures and bus route changes: we explain them to you.

BarcelonaUp to 27,000 runners will participate on Sunday, March 16, in the Zurich Barcelona Marathon 2025The race, which will start on Passeig de Gràcia at 8:30 a.m. and maintains virtually the same route as in 2024, will pass by iconic landmarks such as the Sagrada Família, the Columbus Monument, and the Arc de Triomphe, where the finish line will be. All of this will entail closures on numerous city streets and disruptions to public transport. We'll keep you updated.
The first restrictions, Saturday
The first restrictions in the start area will be on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. on Passeig de Gràcia, from Plaça Catalunya to Gran Via, although the side road on the Besòs side to Casp will remain open. At 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, some sections of Passeig de Lluís Companys and Passeig de Pujades will be closed for the installation of the cloakroom, and at 9:00 p.m. Passeig de Picasso (Llobregat side) will be closed.
Traffic closures for the Marathon
On Sunday at 6:00 a.m., traffic will be cut off on various sections of roads in Plaça Catalunya, Plaça Urquinaona, Ronda de Sant Pere, and Ronda de la Università. Half an hour later, at 6:30 a.m., the central roads of Passeig de Picasso will be closed for the race.
Traffic and access restrictions to the main parking lots along the route (see video) will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will be gradually reinstated as the race progresses. At 11:30 a.m., traffic will reopen in the start area, and the final restrictions will end at 6:00 p.m. This is also when the vehicle parking restrictions, already in place and posted since this Friday, will be lifted on the affected roads.
Bus lines affected
Between 6:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., the route will also affect several bus lines, either through detours or through limited routes. These are: D20, D50, H8, H10, H12, H14, H16, V9, V11, V13, V15, V17, V19, V21, V23, V25, V27, V29, V31, 6, 7, 13, 19, 32, 4, 55, 59, 62, 63, 67, 96, 109, 120, 121, 126, 136, 141, 192, and Barcelona Bus Turístic (red and blue routes).

Parking access and exit
During the Barcelona Marathon, there will also be changes to the entrances and exits to the BSM parking lot at Barcelona Nord station, the Saba parking lot at Plaça de Catalunya, the BSM Marina Port, and the parking lots at Port Olímpic and Estacion de Francia.
