BarcelonaThe rainstorm this Saturday afternoon in León has caused two fatalities. The strong storm caused the Oza river to overflow, which caused a flood and a landslide that reached Manzanedo de Valdueza and Bouzas, two municipalities belonging to Ponferrada. According to initial information from emergency teams, the provisional toll is two fatalities and two injured people.

As sources explained to the Efe and Europa Press agencies, the flood caused a landslide and caused water and mud to circulate through one of the town's streets and reach a cellar where six people were. Two women between 60 and 80 years old have died and two minors have been treated for minor injuries. According to Europa Press, there are no missing persons, although some media outlets point out that there could be one missing person.

The Ponferrada Firefighters, the National Police, the Local Police of Ponferrada, the Emergency Coordination Center of the Junta de Castilla y León, and the Psychological Intervention Group in Disasters and Emergencies (Gripde) have been mobilized. The Emergency Coordination Center of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Agency has also activated the rescue helicopter, which is heading to the area to collaborate in search and evacuation tasks, where there are already several ambulances and medical personnel from the continuous care point (PAC).
