BarcelonaThe use of the health card and the process for selecting a place in Specialized Health Training (FSE), which takes place this Wednesday, may be affected by a technical problem affecting the Data Processing Center (CPD) of the Ministry of Health. The incident is believed to have been caused by a power failure that affected the data center's cooling system, causing overheating and a temporary shutdown of the services hosted on this infrastructure.
The incident was reported early this Wednesday, Sant Jordi Day. Due to this technical problem, the health card system is not working, and it is also impossible to obtain electronic prescription medication outside the autonomous community of residence or make medical appointments at health centers in other parts of the country. For now, the Ministry of Health states that no such problems have been reported in Catalonia.
Minister Mónica García has stated that "all signs" indicate that the incident "will be resolved throughout the morning." In fact, the ministry assures that it is already working with the autonomous communities and pharmaceutical associations to mitigate the effects of this situation and restore service as soon as possible.
According to government sources, the General Directorate of Professional Regulation will send, "when possible," individualized email communications to those affected by this incident. This Wednesday morning, biologists, physicists, and chemists began selecting positions. In the afternoon, it will be the turn of pharmacists and psychologists.
