Advance salary increase, more money for tutoring and reinforcement for inclusive education: the Education's proposal to unions
The council will propose the incorporation of 2,405 new staff
BarcelonaThis afternoon, the Department of Education has sent its proposal for negotiation to the unions. As detailed in the document made public by CGT and USTEC, the Government will put on the table the option of advancing by one year the already agreed salary increase and the possibility of making a "remuneration improvement" through the bonuses that teachers receive for being responsible for tutoring. Although sources from Education insist that they will not explain or confirm the details of the proposal until after the meeting with the unions, CGT and USTEC have sent the same working document to the press with the Department of Education's watermark.
As UGT —one of the unions that signed the initial agreement with the Government— had already announced, one of the conselleria's offers will be the incorporation of 2,405 new "staff" for the next academic year. Of these, half (1,164) will be allocated to reinforcing inclusive education. As for the rest of the provisions, it is expected that around 700 new teachers and 349 administrative professionals will be incorporated. A move that would represent an investment of 93 million euros.
