About thirty personalities will testify for the Andic case until November

BarcelonaAfter a summer without notable judicial proceedings in the Andic case, the autumn will be especially intense at the Martorell courts. The judge investigating Jonathan Andic for the death of his father and founder of Mango, Isak Andic, has summoned up to 33 new witnesses to testify, some requested by the firstborn's defense and others at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office. These witnesses will be distributed among nine sessions to be held between October 26 and November 23. First there will be a round of statements next Monday, and the following ones will be distributed between November 9 and 23, as reported by Efe.

The first to testify will be a person who works for the Andic defense, the detective Francisco Marco. He will be the one to open the session at nine in the morning, which will continue with the testimony of Johanes B., a professional who collaborated with Julia L., the therapist of the Andic family and who is at the center of the problems between the father and the son. Afterwards, the new statements will move to November 9, with important names such as several Mango executives, including CEO Toni Ruiz and workers of the Medical Emergency System (SEM) who attended to Jonathan by phone on the day of the fatal fall in Collbató. The following day, firefighters who intervened in the emergency will testify.

It is also expected that José Creuheras, president of Grupo Planeta and whom the deceased businessman designated as executor, will testify; the victim's trainer; a friend of his, and his notary, Ariel S. Among the notable witnesses is also the lawyer and former politician Miquel Roca, whom the businessman had commissioned to establish a foundation, as well as the lawyer's son, both proposed by the defense. Norman A., Isak's brother, is another of the witnesses scheduled for the last days of testimony.

Isak Andic's physical condition

As the judicial investigation progresses, Jonathan Andic continues to refine his defense strategy. According to judicial sources, one of the elements the defense is focusing on is the physical condition of Isak Andic, who died after falling into the void during a hike with his son in Montserrat. Both the Mossos d'Esquadra and the judge in the case have always maintained that the Mango founder's condition was good. Defense sources also point out that he was a vital person who practiced sports, but they claim that he had suffered for years from bilateral osteoarthritis in his knees that required treatment. They link this to a ligament tear he suffered some time ago.

In this regard, the same sources present various reports of treatments that Andic underwent before his death, in the years 2018, 2020, and 2022, at the Institut Cugat and the Institute for Regenerative Tissue Therapy (ITRT), at the Teknon Medical Center. These reports will be attached to the judicial case, as reported by El Nacional and confirmed by ARA. In fact, the defense claims that there are statements made in court by the family circle in which reference is made to this knee ailment.
