8-year-old boy missing between Segarra and Solsonès
The child was at a holiday camp when he was last seen
BarcelonaEmergency teams are looking for an 8-year-old boy who disappeared this afternoon between Segarra and Solsonès. The child was at a holiday camp at Casa Auró Natura de Llanera, in the municipality of Torà, when he was last seen. Authorities were notified of his disappearance at 3.30 pm.
Twelve ground teams of the Fire Department, alongside members of the Mossos d'Esquadra, the Agents Rurals and the ADF will continue the search tonight. The teams have walked the paths in the area where they think the child may have gone, within a radius of half a kilometer around the house, which is specialises in providing care for dependent and functionally diverse children. The Consell Comarcal del Solsonès has reported that the child has a disability.
The search operation was assisted in the afternoon by two helicopters from the fire brigade which had to withdraw due to bad light when the sun went down. In the afternoon, the teams searched for the child in places where he could have hidden to play.
The Consell Comarcal del Solsonès has said that the search with volunteers will resume this Tuesday morning. In fact, the firefighters have assured that the volume of participants in the search "is more than enough" at the moment to be effective and no more support is needed.
