It was during the parliamentary question time that Verge again questioned Menor about the work carried out by the department, now led by the Socialists. This is not the first time the former minister has questioned Menor's approach; throughout the last year and a half of the legislature, the representative of Salvador Illa's government has engaged in heated debates with Virgen, who has also leveled criticism at the department's role. The battle of these past months culminated on Wednesday with tension: "self-satisfied" and "paternalistic" were two of the terms Menor used, who also clashed with Virgen over their views on feminism.

She will do so after the plenary session in the last week of January. "I've always understood the move into politics as a round trip. My home is the university and activism," she explained in an interview on RTVE. The current ERC deputy, a professor of political science at Pompeu Fabra University, will return to her academic life at the university. Verge assumed the portfolio of Equality and Feminism during Pere Aragonès's government, which began in 2021 with the goal of advancing four revolutions: the social, the feminist, the green, and the democratic. As Catalonia's first Minister of Equality and Feminism, Verge aimed to ensure that feminism reached the entire government and permeated society. One of the ways she did this was by promoting inclusive language. totis —as an alternative to the masculine 'everyone' and the feminine 'all'— or speaking of menstruating people —to avoid calling women those who do not identify with the female gender— were some of the concepts introduced by the Republican executive.
