Be careful not to be accused of plagiarism, recommends the lawyer. In any case, make a virtue of influence, don't hide it, we will all benefit, because it's about knowledge transfer. After all, music is a combination of familiarity and uniqueness. The avant-garde tightens the string of uniqueness, pursuing the chimera of originality. The mainstream demands familiarity, recognizable things. Between one and the other there is a long way to go, including copying and legitimate inspiration, issues that intellectual property legislation sanctions or protects. Nothing legitimate, however, is extractive plagiarism, such as dispossessing authorship or passing off what belongs to another as one's own.

In the live debut of the new album, the band has shown a very good tone, with drive and exuberance, singing new songs, yes, but with the shared feeling that in this minimal gap between one project and the other, not much has changed.

Now they can finally say they've made the great album that does justice to all the praise they've received. It's being said around the neighborhood (L'Animeta, 2026), released this Friday. Quim Carandell's poetic talent, the joy with which the whole band blends diverse influences, and the contributions of producers like Joan Borràs (Oques Grasses), Pau Vallvé, and Santi García bring to life an album dedicated almost entirely to the adversity in love experienced by a clumsy or unlucky lover. Gabriel Bosch (guitar), Quim Carandell (vocals and guitar), Roger Cassola (drums), Pau Esteve (keyboards), Andreu Galofré (bass), and Lluc Valverde (saxophone and keyboards) speak.

Three. A moving finale by Maria Arnal, with the audience stunned by the choreography of La Veronal's dancers. The heartfelt intimacy of Edna Bravo before a baroque altarpiece. A crowd watching Ouineta sing while perched on a horse on the big night of pop. queer in the Sucre. The writer Tuli Márquez plays the rhapsodist in an anarcho-syndicalist musical, shouting "the revolution will be ours or it won't be, it will be from Gaza or it won't be." Biznaga unleashing impeccable and ferocious punk rock in front of the cathedral. The romanticism of Marco Mezquida and Lina. The poetic depth of folk music by Asturian singer-songwriter Lorena Álvarez... And above all, a city devoted to music, giving meaning to music, making music important for thinking, laughing, dancing, and marveling. All this and much more is part of the 37th edition of the Vic Live Music Market, which concludes this Sunday with a Mishima concert.

Within the field of classical music, one of the unmissable events is the Torroella de Montgrí Festival, at the foot of the massif that separates the Empordà, which this year celebrates its 45th edition. Focusing mainly on early and baroque music, but also featuring contemporary offerings and repertoires from all styles and periods, from the 14th century to the present day, the Bajo Empordà festival offers a very interesting, unique, and diverse program of up to 32 concerts, which runs from August 3 to 22. To help you choose and sort through all the offerings at the Torroella festival, prominent figures from our country's cultural world recommend to the ARA the most attractive and essential concerts, designed for all tastes and interests.

This resulted in a lineup that explored areas that had been little explored in the event's programming, an aspect that was particularly noticeable on the main day, Friday, July 4, led by the Argentinians Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, who exhibit trap muscle with a tendency toward lyrical mischief. The duo performed with a band that enhanced the Latin rhythms of their performance, which might have gone unnoticed by those following the concert on screen, since the performance never strayed from the focus of the two lead vocalists. It might have seemed an eccentric move for those who associate Vida with indie pop, but the feeling was that of watching a team playing at home, in front of a legion of fans who returned every wink of the rhymes. In fact, it was the only moment of the entire weekend when, to secure a good spot, they had to deal with the kind of confines the festival prides itself on avoiding.
