However, despite these public appeals, the People's Party (PP) remains unmoved. They have no plans to open negotiations with Carles Puigdemont's party, nor do they intend to register the motion in Congress, which could bring the Socialist leader's time in La Moncloa to an end. The PP's second-in-command, Miguel Tellado, confirmed this Monday at a press conference in Génova that they will not make any moves and that, for the moment, their strategy is simply to criticize these parties for not having decided to oust the Spanish president despite the alleged corruption scandals. "The question [about the motion of no confidence] shouldn't be directed at us, but rather at the PNV and Junts, asking how much longer they will continue to tolerate this," Tellado said.

The National Assembly narrowly rejected the motion of no confidence presented by the radical left on Thursday: the motion was voted on by 271 deputies, 18 short of the 289 needed to bring down the government. The Socialists and the right decided not to vote on it, although some rebel deputies from both parties chose to disobey their party's mandate. Shortly after, a second motion of no confidence presented by the far right was also rejected.

Junts (4) and Futur (4), an independent party linked to the post-convergent space, reached a government agreement in 2023 to share the mayor's office, but in June the council members informed them that they were breaking off the understanding. Faced with the rupture, ERC (5) presented a vote of no confidence that will be passed this Monday with the support of two Futur councilors, who have decided to support it to avoid paralysis in the Ceretan town. In this way, Junts loses the last regional capital in the Pyrenees it had and ERC regains a mayoralty it has not held since 2011. It will do so with Joan Manel Serra at the helm.

He hasn't yet grasped that what gives Pedro Sánchez oxygen is the configuration of two irreconcilable blocs. And it is on the issue of leadership, especially important in Madrid, where Feijóo fails.

After having categorically ruled out for weeks presenting a motion of censure despite pressure from Vox, the PP leader announced this Tuesday morning in a message to X that he had asked Miguel Tellado, the PP spokesperson in Congress, to explore the possibility of obtaining the four votes he is missing among Pedro's parliamentary allies. A cordon sanitaire is being applied. "Let them say if their support for the PSOE remains intact," Feijóo demanded. The movement, framed within the strategy deployed by the PP to wear down not only the Socialists but also the rest of the plurinational majority by accusing them of complicity in corruption, has backfired. Isabel Díaz Ayuso has refuted him, Junts has put him on the ropes with an uncomfortable proposal for him – to meet with Carles Puigdemont in Waterloo – and widened the gap with the PNV.

In eight years, there have been three motions of no confidence to remove the mayor, and all three, paradoxically, have been promoted by councilors from the same party as the mayor. This Monday, the third was consummated. Three of the five councilors from a list linked to ERC, the only party in the council, have decided to oust the mayor due to "disagreements" and "lack of communication and transparency" when making decisions.

Faced with the constant refusal of the head of the Consell, this Friday the PSPV goes on the attack and is already pointing to a possible motion of censure with an uncertain outcome (they would need the support of Vox, in addition to that of Compromís). What does it depend on? On Alberto Núñez Feijóo. "If Feijóo does not make a move in the next few hours, the PSPV will," said the leader of the party in the Valencian Community, Diana Morant. Consulted by the ARA, sources from the state PP assure that "there are no changes" in their position on Mazón, which until now was to support him and divert responsibilities to the executive of Pedro Sánchez.

The two parties have filed a motion of censure against the PP to unseat it from the presidency of the autonomous community, where it is part of a coalition government with Ciudadanos and the external support of Vox. The motion, however, is not limited only to the Regional Assembly, but also to the City Council of Murcia. The aim that the current spokesperson of the executive and regional coordinator of Ciudadanos, Ana Martínez Vidal, become the new president to replace the PP's Fernando López Miras. In turn, it also seeks to end the government of Murcia's mayor, José Ballesta, also supported by Ciudadanos, and that the current deputy mayor, Mario Gomez, become the new mayor.
