The PP is mobilizing against Pedro Sánchez while seeking support from Junts and the PNV for a motion of no confidence
Alberto Núñez Feijóo's supporters have called for a rally this Sunday at noon at the Temple of Debod in Madrid.
MadridSince the beginning of the legislature, this is the seventh time that the Popular Party has called for mobilization against the government of Pedro Sánchez. The last one was six months ago.Following the revelations in the Leire case, the People's Party (PP), led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, called on citizens to rally under the slogan "Mafia or Democracy" and without any party symbols. Both of these elements are being repeated this Sunday at noon. The PP has called on citizens to gather at the Temple of Debod in Madrid, but this time the catalyst for the rally is the provisional imprisonment of the former Secretary of Organization of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) and former Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos, in Soto del Real prison, along with his former advisor Koldo García. Feijóo will be accompanied by José María Aznar and Mariano Rajoy, as well as by almost all the... males From the PP, including the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. The Popular Party is taking advantage of the alleged corruption cases that are cornering the PSOE and, consequently, the Spanish government to demand national elections. In Génova (the PP headquarters), they believe that the imprisonment of Ábalos and Koldo García, as well as that of Santos Cerdán some time ago, is not an "isolated case," but rather evidence that Pedro Sánchez is the "rotten apple [of the party] and the link between them." In the last face-to-face debate in Congress this past Wednesday, Feijóo accused the Spanish president of being "increasingly dangerous for democracy." Meanwhile, they still lack sufficient support for a motion of no confidence against Sánchez, as for now they only have the support of Vox. In this regard, Feijóo's party has been trying for some time to win over the PNV and Junts. In fact, they tried again with the latter this week. Coinciding with his visit to Foment del Treball this Friday, Feijóo asked Catalan business leaders toThey will help him convince Junts to move forward with the proposal, a request that has not pleased Carles Puigdemont's party: "The first thing he should do is not ask for help from businessmen, but apologize to them for having asked them to leave Catalonia," the general secretary of Junts stated this SaturdayJordi Turull.
