While the Generalitat Firefighters fight throughout the night and morning against fires that started the day before, new fires break out at midday, coinciding with the hottest time of day. It happened on Monday, it happened on Tuesday, and it happened this Wednesday. The extinguishing corps was working to stabilize the Sentmenat fire after controlling those in Baix Empordà and Anoia, and three new fires have broken out: in Gavà, Alt Camp, and Bages, which were managed to be stabilized despite the fact that the latter two had caused great concern initially.

The then director of the Catalan Health Institute and Secretary of Public Health assured that the decision to limit the AstraZeneca vaccine to the 60 to 65 age group – whether or not they were essential workers – was a decision of the Interterritorial Health Council and "did not pose any ethical conflict" nor in the epidemiological field, because it prioritized people most vulnerable to the virus. Nevertheless, he was in favor of continuing to vaccinate all officers, because the logistics were already in place, and he communicated this to the minister Alba Vergés.

In large trials, they also have advisors who advise them on which evidence can best support their defense and how to present it to the jury. Sometimes they also surround themselves with investigators who work in parallel with the police so that the defense can anticipate the evidence that will be against the accused. Although the jurists consulted agree that this model is becoming increasingly widespread, it is by no means common and is used in a very small part of judicial proceedings in Catalonia. In large part, because it entails a much higher cost than a defense with a single lawyer, or a free one by appointment. "The defense in a trial works one way if you have money; if not, it works another way," summarizes the specialist in legal and forensic psychology Miquel Àngel Soria.

At the start of the trial this Tuesday, the Barcelona Court has excluded from the case the crime against workers' rights that the unions were pursuing and which could have led to sentences of up to three years in prison. The Prosecutor's Office requests the disqualification for 12 years of those who led the ministry at the time and accuses them, like the police unions, of having "paralyzed" the vaccination of these agents and not prioritizing them over the general population, as they did with other emergency services. Among the figures provided by the accusers is the vaccination rate of the agents: at a time when the vaccination rate was 2.8% among civil guards and 3.6% among national police officers, it reached 77% among the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Barcelona Municipal Police.

The nine people who form them are not judges, but they become workers of the administration of justice for a few days to decide whether the accused is guilty or not. This means that the strategies that prosecutions and defenses use to convince these judges novellas will largely be different from those they usually exhibit when faced with professional judges. The couple lived together for a few years, as agreed by both families, and they had a daughter who is now eleven years old. In 2017, the man moved to Barcelona, looked for a way to make a living, and opened a 24-hour supermarket in the Zona Franca. Five years later, the woman and the girl, who was already seven years old, also traveled to the Catalan capital to meet him. That's where the ordeal that both of them have had to endure began, terrified by the man's assaults and having to sleep inside the cold room of the supermarket's back shop while he stayed in an apartment.

Specifically, in its monitoring report for this month of June, the State's advisors assess that the preventive actions – which are the responsibility of the Generalitat – have not been taken "with the desired intensity". Among the arguments is that an average of 363 wild boars have been hunted per week, when the estimated objective was 800 per week.

Judicially, by filing a technical and extensive appeal that denies the evidence incriminating him to try to have the restrictive measures currently against him lifted, such as the passport withdrawal or the one million euro bail with which he has managed to avoid going to prison. But also, in the media, trying to reverse the "social condemnation" that his defense claims he suffered when he was arrested. Nevertheless, the judge, the Mossos, and the prosecutor in the case are all heading in the same direction: they believe there are sufficient grounds to indict him.
