The Director General of Penal Execution in the Community and Juvenile Justice, Jesús del Cacho, has resigned after two years in office. The Government appointed the new director, criminal lawyer Paz Vallès, this very Tuesday.

The Mossos d’Esquadra found this Thursday the remains of the missing young boy in a house in Santa Bàrbara, in Montsià, where he had been searched for since last weekend. The child's parents were already arrested Wednesday morning in Valencia for allegedly having killed the boy, and this Thursday afternoon they were brought before the Amposta court, which will have to decide whether they are sent to prison or released. For the moment, the case remains under seal.

On December 14, 2021, a former employee of the company Securitas in Tarragona entered his former workplace armed and wounded three former colleagues. During his escape, he also shot and wounded a Mossos d'Esquadra officer and finally barricaded himself in a farmhouse in Riudoms (Baix Camp), where the police force's elite unit shot him down. The shooting left Marin Eugen Sabau with serious injuries, which after several judicial appeals ended up receiving euthanasia that he/she was asking for. With his death, the case against him was closed, but another one was still underway in which the eleven officers who neutralized the gunman were being investigated for injuries. Now the instructor of this case has prosecuted two agents of the Special Intervention Group (GEI) who shot him in an action he describes as "uncontrolled, disproportionate and with a purpose that could go beyond neutralizing Sabau, which was to riddle his physical integrity".

The until now Secretary General of the Department of the Interior of the Generalitat, Tomàs Carrión, has resigned from his position as the number two of the department, according to sources from the department explained to ARA. From now on, Joana Ricardo Hoyos, who until now has been Director General of Security Administration, will assume this position.

Sònia Angelats is a primary school teacher, but she teaches adults.
