Xosé Manuel Beiras, historic leader of Galician nationalism, dies

The historic leader of Galician nationalism Xosé Manuel Beiras Torrado, founder of Anova after his departure from the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG), has died at 90 years old, as confirmed to the Efe agency by sources close to him.

In recent times he still participated in cultural and political events, such as a tribute to Xosé Luis Méndez Ferrín and, as part of the audience, at the Apostle's Proclamation, in support of the Palestinian people.

Last spring he presented a book about the history of the PSG, a party he helped to create.
