BarcelonaA narrow victory for the People's Party (PP) over the Socialist Party (PSOE) in the Franja region. The PP garnered 13% more votes than the Socialists overall in the region—6,280 votes to the Socialists' 5,526—but the result paints a different picture of the balance of power than in the rest of the autonomous community. The 13% difference in favor of the PP stands in stark contrast to the situation in Aragon as a whole, where the gap between the two parties widens to 40% in favor of the PP. This suggests that the Franja remains a more contested territory and one where the implementation of Socialism is more resilient at the local level.

The Popular Party and the Socialist Party received the most votes in an equal number of municipalities. Both the PP and the PSOE won in 28 towns, a balance that reflects a dual political landscape. However, the demographic weight of the larger population centers ultimately tipped the balance of votes toward the Socialists.

The Baix Cinca region has confirmed its status as the electoral engine of the region, with Fraga as the crown jewel. The People's Party's victory in the Fraga capital, with 1,964 votes to the Socialists' 1,302, made the difference in the overall count. However, within the region, the situation is not uniform, and Mequinenza remains a Socialist stronghold, with 362 votes compared to the PP's 229.

In the northernmost districts – Llitera and Ribagorça, in the province of Huesca – the PSOE has managed to maintain its position better despite the PP narrowing the gap. Meanwhile, Matarraña (a district split between the provinces of Zaragoza and Teruel) presents the most fragmented political landscape in the entire Franja: the PP won in the capital, but the Aragonese Party (PAR) and Aragón Existe won in two and one municipalities, respectively.

The situation of Vox

As throughout Aragon, Vox has also managed to gain ground in this area. The far-right party was able to break the traditional two-party system in several parts of the Franja. With a total of 3,883 votes, the green party has consolidated its position as the third largest force, surpassing the PP and the PSOE in certain municipalities. This contrasts sharply with the collapse of Sumar in the region, with 275 votes, and Podemos, with 137. Their place has been taken by the Chunta Aragonesista, led by former member of Congress Jorge Pueyo, with 1,097 votes.
