Cerdanyola del VallèsA year ago, Vito Quiles limited himself to dedicating a few brief words to his followers in the parking lot of the Faculty of Communication at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). This year, he did not even reach the parking lot (in this case for an event called at the Plaça Cívica) because hundreds of students demonstrated to prevent it. Like in October 2025, the Mossos have charged against a crowd that was jeering the presence of the ultra-agitator and his followers, and the event planned at the UAB ended up changing location, when Quiles redirected it to another parking lot, in this case the one at the industrial estate where the IKEA in Sabadell is located.
This Monday, there was a large security deployment at all entrances to the university campus that caused long queues on the access roads. Quiles announced the change of location with a message on X at 6:30, when the anti-fascist protest had already been active for more than an hour, with charges and objects being thrown. There were moments of tension as the protesters advanced from the Plaça Cívica to the Hemeroteca square, which they managed to occupy when the Mossos realigned the cordon to separate them from the Spanish nationalist attendees.
The agitator's followers had remained sheltered several meters behind the police cordon, hidden from the view of the anti-fascists, until the Mossos themselves forced them out. While they retreated without offering resistance, they revealed two Spanish flags, the only ones seen at the Autònoma this Monday. Instead, the red and pro-independence flags of the anti-fascists predominated.
Vito Quiles celebrated the Mossos' charges just after having criticized them for having limited "his right to movement in national territory, violating fundamental laws due to political orders". The UAB had refused to cede its facilities to the pseudo-journalist and asked the Department of Interior last Friday that the police prevent his entry into the premises.
Not at the IKEA either
Vito Quiles has moved the event to a parking lot in front of the IKEA in Sabadell, in the commercial area near the UAB. The event, which was already lackluster, ended up being ruined when a group of anti-fascists appeared throwing objects and driving away the agitator and his followers. The attendees, who at that moment were taking photos with Quiles, dispersed through the surroundings shouting "Viva España". The Mossos intervened to disperse the anti-fascists, who continued with the chants that were already heard at the Autonomous University, such as "get fascists out of the university", "long live the working class struggle" or anti-racist, pro-independence, and socialist proclamations.
