The reason for Puigdemont's move that no one understands

BarcelonaPuigdemont's move in the Constitutional Court has not only disconcerted the members of the high court, but also several Junts leaders, who do not see the point in delaying the decision on the amnesty appeal. However, amid the confusion, there are sources that offer two possible explanations.
The first is that lawyer Gonzalo Boye does not trust what the Constitutional Court members may decide at the last minute and wants to raise challenges to the three conservative judges in case he eventually ends up before the European Court of Human Rights, alleging a lack of impartiality on the part of the plenary.
And the second is that this Tuesday, the Constitutional Court was also expected to reject the precautionary measures requested by the former president, that is, it was expected to deny the immediate withdrawal of the arrest warrant against Puigdemont. An issue that has now also been postponed and that gives some more time for negotiations between Junts and the PSOE. If Puigdemont could return immediately thanks to the Constitutional Court's precautionary measures, Pedro Sánchez could probably save the legislature.
The point is that, so far, all that has emerged from the Constitutional Court is that the judges are not going down that path, since—they say—a decision like this would advance the substance of the final ruling, but also because they would enter into a direct and unprecedented confrontation with the Supreme Court. Everything points, therefore, to the fact that in the meantime, the PSOE will continue to lose key votes.
