BarcelonaThe PSOE headquarters on Ferraz street in Madrid woke up to the visit of agents from the Operational Action Unit of the Civil Guard. They carried a judicial order for them to be provided with a whole series of information linked to a case under secrecy that the National Court has been investigating for months. In the event that the socialists had refused to provide the documentation to the police, they even had a signed authorization to search the party headquarters. What was Judge Santiago Pedraz looking for there?

1.

The Catalan campaign

One of the most unexpected requests has been the one related to the PSC's electoral campaign in the last Catalan elections. The judge does not make a direct connection with any of the payments he is investigating, but he wants to know firsthand all the "accounting records, contracts and invoices, propaganda and advertising expenses, etc." that the party has submitted to the Court of Auditors. In a statement, the Catalan socialists have shown themselves fully willing to cooperate with justice and have stressed that they have always been "totally transparent" with campaign expenses.

2.

Advertising contracts

There are at least 20,000 euros from an advertising campaign that the PSOE allocated to the Crónica Libre group, directed by the journalist Patricia López, who recently died of cancer. The judge is asking the PSOE to report on the amounts, the object, the documentation, the form of payment, etc.

3.

Sandro Rosell at the PSOE headquarters?

Another of the judicial requirements is to know the register of entries and exits from the Ferraz headquarters during the years 2024 and 2025. Here is an exhaustive list of twenty-six names, among which are the main defendants in the plot, such as the former organization secretary of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, the former socialist militant Leire Díez, or the businessman Javier Pérez Dolset. However, there are other notable people on the list, such as, for example, the former president of Barça, Sandro Rosell, whom Pedraz also suspects could be part of the plot to discredit judges and police officers. The judge has also added to the list the former commissioner José Manuel Villarejo, one of the most recognized names in the state's sewers. Did they ever pass through the PSOE headquarters?

4.

Emails and documentation

The bulk of the documentation requested by the judge has been emails and various documentation from Cerdán, Ana María Fuentes, Covadonga San Pedro and Celia Rodríguez, all of them attached to the party's organization secretariat, from former head of communication Ion Antolín and from the PSOE management. Furthermore, it has been requested whether trips were paid for and where they took place in the cases of Cerdán, Díez, Pérez Dolset, Patricia López and also the socialist politician Gaspar Zarrías; the entry register of various vehicles such as a Skoda Octavia and a Tesla Model 3 linked to Leire Díez; the "íntegre in situ" examination of the PSOE's accounting books for 2024 and 2025 and detailed information on internal payment methods.
