ValenciaThe DANA judge has once again invited the head of the Consell (Spanish Consell), Carlos Mazón, to testify as a suspect or defendant, and has summoned the first vice president and government spokesperson, Susana Camarero, as a witness. She did so this Thursday in a letter seen by ARA, in which she also announced that she has decided to incorporate into the case the open letter released last Friday by journalist Maribel Vilaplana regarding the lunch with the Valencian president on the day of the catastrophe.

Judge Nuria Ruiz Tobarra believes that Vilaplana's open letter "affects a series of elements that would affect not only the decision-making process at the Integrated Operational Coordination Centre (Cecopi) by those already under investigation," the former Minister of Justice and the Interior Salomé Pradas and her ex-wife, but also that the President of the Generalitat may have had in these measures. She also points out that the journalist's letter extends by one hour - to between 6:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. - the "period of time" that Mazón spent at the El Ventorro restaurant. Finally, she emphasizes that the document reveals the contradiction that arises from the fact that despite the "telephone communications" that the head of the Consell had during the meal, the PP leader "did not show any concern and continued at the restaurant."

Despite incorporating the letter as requested by the popular accusation exercised by Podemos, the judge has The Valencian government has refused to summon Vilaplana as a witness, given that this would imply "a direct act of investigation by the president of the Generalitat himself," who, by virtue of his position, has immunity. Mazón can only be called to testify by a higher court of justice, in this case, that of the Valencian Country.

As for Susana Camarero, Ruiz Tobarra has accepted the request that she testify as a witness, as several prosecutions had requested. It's worth noting that the Valencian vice president also made the news last Friday when it was revealed that on the day of the DANA (National Electoral Council) she left the Cecopio meeting to attend an awards ceremony at a critical moment in the day. Specifically, when the possible rupture of the Forata reservoir and the evacuation of several municipalities and some nursing homes, which fall under her jurisdiction as Minister of Social Services, Equality, and Housing, were being discussed.
