LuxembourgRevolt in the European Parliament against a Vox exhibition over the Valley of the Fallen which can be visited during the week of July 18, the same date as the military coup of 1936. All the Catalan parties and those from all over the State in the European Parliament that are part of the democratic memory group have sent a letter to the President of the European Parliament, the Maltese popular party, in which they "show their sample" Francoism.

The PP and Se ha Acabado la Fiesta (the far-right party of Alvise Pérez) are the only parties in the State that have not signed the letter to which ARA has had access, but MEP sources assure that at least for the present part they have not been sent historical memory. However, MEPs such as the Republican Diana Riba, Jaume Asens (Comuns) or, among others, Vicent Marzà (Compromís) do appear.

The letter asks Metsola to "disavow" the exhibition because "it is incompatible with the values and norms that govern" the European Parliament, if in the request for the exhibition Vox already specified that it would deal with the Valley of the Fallen and if the content of the exhibition was really "previously reviewed". However, for the moment sources from the presidency of the European Parliament explain that each MEP can promote two exhibitions or cultural events per legislature that have had the authorization of the Quaestor, which is an administrative body of the community chamber that is in charge of watching over this type of issues and is made up of a conservative majority.

The letter reminds the European Parliament that the fact that the exhibition can be visited during the week of July 18 is neither "coincidental nor neutral," but rather has "a marked character of glorification" of the Franco regime. Along the same lines, the MEPs criticize Vox for calling the Francoist monument the Valley of the Fallen and not by its official name, the Cuelgamuros Valley. "It constitutes an act of revisionism and glorification of the Francoist past," insist all Spanish parties except those on the Spanish right.
