Lluís Reverter, Narcís Serra's right-hand man in the Barcelona City Council and in Defense, has died.

A former politician from the PSC and cultural activist, he was also general secretary of the Fundació La Caixa for two decades.

BarcelonaFormer PSC politician and cultural activist Lluís Reverter Gelabert died early this morning at the age of 82, according to has advanced The NewspaperReverter was Narcís Serra's right-hand man, first as a city councilor in Barcelona and later as director general in the Ministry of Defense. He also served as secretary general of the La Caixa Foundation and was currently a trustee of the Pau Casals Foundation, which was directed by Serra. During his time at the City Hall, between 1979 and 1982, Reverter was responsible for citizen relations, as well as vice president of the Barcelona Municipal Tourism Board and the Trade Fair. From 1982 to 1991, he was director general of Information and Social Relations at the Ministry of Defense and, later, served as secretary general for Coordination and Services at the Spanish Prime Minister's Office.

He played a key role during the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, heading Grup 92, which was responsible for the logistics and security of important visitors to the city during the event. A year later, in 1993, he became Secretary General of the La Caixa Foundation, a position he held for two decades. In addition to being a trustee of the Pau Casals Foundation, he was also a trustee of the Amatller Foundation for Hispanic Art and participated in the Council for Economic Affairs of the Archdiocese of Barcelona.
