Illa announces that Catalan courses will return to China next year.
The president of the Generalitat made the announcement after visiting the Beijing Foreign Studies University.

The President of the Generalitat (Catalan government), Salvador Illa, announced during his official trip to China that Catalan courses will return to the country in the second semester of the upcoming academic year, thanks to an agreement between the Institut Ramon Llull (IRL) and Beijing Foreign Studies University.
The President declared that it was a "very important agreement that contributes to the evolution of Catalan culture and language," the Government announced this Saturday. It will be the only university teaching center for Catalan in China and will resume the assistantship program that existed at this university from 2015 to 2019.
He also announced the opening of a new Government delegation in China.
From China, the President of the Generalitat (Catalan Government) took the opportunity to announce the opening of a new government delegation in the Asian country. Speaking to the media, Illa explained that the intention is to open it in Beijing before the end of the year.
Currently, Catalonia has three Action offices in the country (in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong) and an office of the Catalan Tourism Agency. Now the Government intends to "reinforce" Catalonia's role in the country and give it "a more powerful status."
The President of the Generalitat (Catalan Government) met with the Vice President of the National People's Congress of China, Wu Weihua, as part of an official trip during which he hopes to "strengthen cooperation" and the relations he maintains with China. The trip will last a week and is aimed at strengthening the Catalan presence in Asia, continuing the work that began in May with the official trip to Japan and Korea.
