The historic former mayor of Figueres, Marià Lorca, passed away this Tuesday at the age of 87. Born in 1938, he served as mayor between 1983 and 1995 representing CiU and was a person closely linked to the painter Salvador Dalí, with whom he spoke recurrently. He also promoted the foundation in honor of the artist.
