MadridAfter five failed attempts to get Isabel Díaz Ayuso's boyfriend to testify, the judge investigating him was finally able to hear from Alberto González Amador this Thursday. As part of a second, separate case involving alleged business corruption and malpractice, González Amador testified for over two hours and, according to legal sources, defended the legality of his activities. This line of investigation, which is advancing in parallel with the main case involving tax fraud and document forgery, is focusing on the half-million-euro purchase of a company called Círculo Belleza, which the Prosecutor's Office suspects could be a covert commission from an executive at Quirón Prevención. The same sources explain that the Madrid president's partner has disassociated this transaction from alleged bribery.

The Public Prosecutor's suspicion, who asked to investigate it, is based on the fact that Círculo de Belleza was owned by the wife of the president of Quirón Prevención, Fernando Camino, with whom González Amador did business, and "had no value." Although the company he bought for €499,836.92 had no real estate or employees and its only tangible asset was a "worthless" laptop and three hair removal and body contouring devices, Ayuso's boyfriend has justified the purchase by its "network of distribution contracts." According to the same sources, González Amador has provided documentation to defend this motivation and deny that he used the acquired company, renamed Masterman & Whitaker, to achieve tax savings.

Beyond the alleged hidden commission of half a million euros, the public prosecutor's office points out that González Amador sought "genuine tax savings" by using Masterman & Whitaker as a front company to issue invoices that his other company (Maxwell Cremona) had actually provided to Quirón Prevención. Leaving the statement before Judge Inmaculada Iglesias, González Amador – who this time emerged unharmed after the clash with a cameraman that he had in the previous summons a month and a half ago After refusing to testify, he stated that it had gone "wonderfully well" and that he was in full swing.

Ayuso, who avoided the spotlight, is the Madrid president, who is on an official trip to Ecuador. This allowed him to avoid questions from the opposition during the control session held in the Madrid Assembly. González Amador has not provided explanations regarding the other part of the tax fraud investigation, in which he is accused of allegedly concealing income he obtained as a commission agent on mask contracts during the pandemic by underpaying €350,000 in taxes. The judge summoned Javier Gómez Fidalgo, the lawyer who represented him during the tax inspection, as a suspect on May 6, after the Prosecutor's Office designated him as a necessary cooperator.
