Agreement between the Government and ERC to validate the second injection of funds due to a lack of budget

The €1.3 billion that the executive will approve this Tuesday includes aid for farmers affected by the hailstorms.

ERC's deputy secretary of communication, Isaac Albert, at a press conference this Monday

BarcelonaAgreement between the Government and ERC to validate the second credit supplement of 1.3 billion eurosThis is the second injection of public money that the executive will approve after validating 2,100 at the end of March. All of this is to address the day-to-day management of the Generalitat (Catalan government) after the government had to extend the budget. Republican spokesperson Isaac Albert has announced a pact covering almost 1 billion euros to pay civil servants' salaries and address the rise in the CPI, and 388 million euros to finance the tariff plan announced by Salvador IllaThis last allocation, however, must be specified in a working group that the executive has promised to form, as Albert explained, and which should serve to determine how the aid will be distributed. Of these 388 million, 30 million will be allocated to aid for farmers affected by the recent hailstorms, a request that ERC had made in recent weeks - 20 million are direct aid and 10 million to improve agricultural infrastructure.

ERC has defended its support for the second credit supplement because it does not want to put obstacles in the way of the day-to-day management of the government and, especially, because it sees the importance of advancing measures "in favor of the productive fabric." The Republicans, in this regard, assert that they have agreed with the executive that the tariff plan will include aid for companies exporting to the United States, but also for companies that are part of "the entire value chain," that is, companies that work with the export sector indirectly. Esquerra also asks the government to ensure that this plan guarantees "work income": "All public aid must be linked to the stability of the labor market." In any case, the aid will be specified by the working group that is to be formed shortly. "Now the tariff crisis is in progress." standby"We don't know how it will evolve in the coming weeks and months," said Albert, who justified the fact that the destination of this aid has not yet been specified: "We want to be there and we must be willing to where to allocate it." Another 500 million. Esquerra must negotiate this third package and one of the issues it intends to include is an item to maintain free education from 0 to 3 years.

The Commons, the third leg

The Comuns (Communist Party), the other essential leg of the agreement, have been finalizing the agreement for the second credit supplement with the Catalan government this Monday. An appearance by the Minister of Economy, Alícia Romero, and the parliamentary leader of the Comuns (Communist Party), Jéssica Albiach, was scheduled for the afternoon to provide details, but it has been canceled. in the face of the crisis caused by the power outage. Already in the morning, in a press conference, Comuns coordinator Candela López announced that the Catalan government has agreed to allocate 20 million to the Energy Sector within the decree, as the party had demanded. However, there are still pending demands: for example, that the government increase the Catalan government's own resources allocated to housing by 250 million, to reach a total of 850 million—which would be the highest figure ever dedicated to this area.

Within the framework of this negotiation, Comuns also demands the establishment of a corps of inspectors to ensure compliance with the housing law, with at least 100 personnel, and the implementation of the oral health law. They will not be able to see this reflected in the 1.3 billion supplement, but they hope to include it in the third, of 500 million. The Socialists maintain that the details of the agreement between the Government and Comuns also have the approval of ERC. They also assert that if ERC and Comuns want to sit down tripartitely to negotiate how to distribute the resources from this latest decree, they are willing to do so. PSC spokesperson and number two, Lluïsa Moret, celebrated this new agreement as the result of the "space for stable and fluid relations between the two parties."
