Who is viral psychiatrist Marian Rojas and why is she so successful?

She is 41 years old, she is the daughter of the famous psychiatrist Enrique Rojas Montes and she leads both the book sales

Rojas Estapé has become famous for talking about the path to happiness, stress and mobile addiction. She gives lectures and spreads her advice, as well as her way of understanding life, especially through Instagram and TikTok. The Madrid native, who has a degree in medicine from the University of Navarra, is especially known for books such as Recover your mind, regain your life (2024), How to make good things happen to you (2018), and Find your vitamin person (2021). Despite being idolized by many followers, her figure is not far from controversy: raised in a very religious family, very close to Opus Dei, her speeches have been questioned for their conservative messages.

Rojas has been accused of having a retrograde discourse, especially when it comes to women's rights - she is against, for example, the right to abortion - and of focusing on individual responsibility for one's own failures: "The state of mind depends on your attitude," she says in one of her books. However, her speeches have brought her almost 4 million followers on Instagram and 700,000 subscribers on YouTube. Apart from all her activity on social networks, she has a practice on Calle Serrano in Madrid, in the heart of the Salamanca district, one of the most affluent areas of the city.

This Tuesday night Rojas visited The Anthill, by Pablo Motos, where she gave advice on having healthy relationships and overcoming addictions. The programme had great audience ratings – it had a 15.6% audience share and 2.1 million viewers across the country – and during the interview the psychiatrist left some phrases such as "what gives meaning to life is love and work" or "we are in a social crisis of attention. ~BK_S_ whom she supported in the break-up and subsequent reconciliation with Iñigo Onieva.
