Who is the actor with whom Shakira would have found love again?
It is the first man with whom the artist is seen in an affectionate attitude since she broke up with Piqué, now four years ago
BarcelonaSince Shakira broke up with Gerard Piqué, the singer's love life has always been one of the topics that has generated the most intrigue worldwide. While in his case we soon had doubts cleared up thanks to Clara Chia, in her case there have been insinuations, but no confirmations whatsoever. In any case, the four years that have passed –yes, it's already four!, since the beginning of June– since this couple ended their 12-year relationship have given much to talk about and, finally, it seems that the artist has found a moment to stop invoicing and start creating new content for a hypothetical future album.
After settling into the world of single life, Shakira has been linked to a multitude of gentlemen. One of the strongest rumors was about the pilot Lewis Hamilton, with whom they were seen together on several occasions in Miami and at other events during the year after her breakup. Neither of them ever confirmed anything. Another athlete, NBA player Jimmy Butler, was also linked to the artist. In this case, however, there were no pictures together and neither of them said anything about it. Another rumor that pointed to Shakira was that of her supposed relationship with Lucien Laviscount, a British actor with whom they worked together in the music video for the song Puntería, in 2024, where he shared the spotlight with Cardi B. Despite the collective excitement to find her a boyfriend, there was never any proof either...
Even Tom Cruise
Of all his post-Piqué men, the most plausible but unlikely one that surfaced was Tom Cruise, who according to some media outlets had shown interest in meeting her. It was evident that he would have made a very good deal, as he has always underpinned his professional life with the extra promotion he gained from personal marketing. And on her part, it would also have been quite credible for her to jump on the bandwagon, as we have seen how she has used her personal life for business and how, moreover, she has never been involved with any poor or unknown man throughout her extensive public career. But nothing came of the rumor.
Now, when everything indicated that the artist was one hundred percent focused on her multi-million dollar tour Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, photographs in which she is seen leaving a Los Angeles hotel with one of the Latin actors of the moment are proof of the most serious relationship that we have known since the breakup. Last week, the Barranquilla singer took advantage of a stop on her tour to have a nighttime date with the Mexican actor Manuel García-Rulfo, a name that perhaps doesn't ring a bell here but is well-known on the other side of the Atlantic. While having photos together was already relevant after four years, the key detail is that in these photos they were seen kissing on the mouth at the hotel door after the date, which is a step further than the simple rumors we had previously. That they ended the night at El Floridita, a live Caribbean music venue in L.A., to dance some salsa steps together was the icing on the cake.
A gallant Latin
This entire exhibition has served to make many wonder who this man is who has managed to momentarily pull Shakira away from her money-making routine. At 45 years old, he is presented by many media outlets as one of Hollywood's new Latin heartthrobs, where he settled in 2016, when he played the role of Vásquez in The Magnificent Seven, a production in which he coincided with Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt. From the Mecca of cinema, he has continued to work in blockbusters such as Murder on the Orient Express, 6 Underground –with Ryan Reynolds– and Sicario: Day of the Soldier. But while these productions are by no means minor, what provided him with the most significant springboard to fame was the role of Mickey Haller, the charismatic lawyer protagonist of The Lincoln Lawyer, a Netflix hit that gave him international fame. Recently, he has just starred in the adaptation of Pedro Páramo –written by his uncle, the Latin American writer Juan Rulfo– and he already has a foot in the franchise of resurrected dinosaurs Jurassic World because he is part of the cast of Jurassic World: Rebirth, which arrived in theaters in 2025.
While we fine-tune our binoculars to see if we can find García-Rulfo among the audience at one of the concerts Shakira is offering in the United States until July 25, we have learned through some media that she would be very excited about this story that is just beginning but that – we have no doubt – she wanted us to know. She is well trained to know that you shouldn't leave together through the main door of a hotel in the city with the most paparazzi per square meter if you don't want anyone to know. And kissing there, even less so. Unless you want everyone to be clear that that handsome guy is no longer available. Perhaps this circumstance of publicity that has surrounded the affair is proof that she wants García-Rulfo more between concerts. Time will tell if she has succeeded.
Another singer
Regarding his love life, we know that he recently became single after breaking up the relationship he had with Audrey McGraw, actress, singer, and daughter of country stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. The relationship ended with the same discretion with which it had begun. Since then, he had not been linked to anyone.
García-Rulfo has been interested in the world of arts since he was very young, when he used to play roles in front of his grandfather on the ranch they shared in his native Mexico and he would record him with a homemade camera they had. Subsequently, he was drawn to documentary photography and began these studies in the North American country as well. However, soon after, he discovered that this was not his true vocation and decided to migrate to the USA to train as an actor, which he did at the New York Film Academy and the Larry Moss Studio Academy. After trying to make his way in Hollywood, he returned to Mexico to train further and try again. The move paid off.
In mid-September, Shakira will land in Madrid to stay for a while, as she will perform 11 consecutive concerts there. Perhaps here she will take the opportunity to show that after the emotional blow she has come out of it very well and that she has cashed in her pocket and also in her heart. Dominating, as she dominates, the art of pink chronicles, it cannot be ruled out that she will not miss any opportunity to let us know.
